RuPaul, Katherine St.John and My Food Journal

Hello Hello Hello!

(My RuPaul moment)

Ru
RuPaul

I know it’s been forever since my last post. Please forgive me and know that this blog was never far from my thoughts!

So, what have I been doing since my last post?

  • Struggling with my A1c (it’s gone up from 7.4 to 8). Finding that out had me a little down but with God’s help, I know we can bring it back down.
  • Watching all 15 seasons of RuPaul’s DragRace. Y’all, I had to go back to the beginning with “Cameroon” Bebe Zahara Benet!
  • Journaling exercise and food. I know I don’t do nearly enough exercise, but at least if I’m journaling, I make it a habit to do SOMETHING!
  • Practicing my Arts and Crafts:
  • Gone back to one of my favorite things: Reading. Right now I’m reading The Lion’s Den by Katherine St.John. Definitely worth checking out! It reminds me of a reality show on a luxury liner.

I’m so thankful to God for my retirement and my health. I refuse to let the fear of Diabetes rule my life.

My Business: My Art

Daily writing prompt
If you were going to open up a shop, what would you sell?

I have wanted to own my own business for years now. I was always interested in making and selling digital art. I have been a lover of photography for a minute. I love to take and manipulate photos into what I think is art.

Lately, I’ve been trying my hand at creating digital art with a new program. I’ve also put some of those designs up for sale on Society 6.

If I could one day get this business up and running, it would be a dream come true. If not, I will keep on being creative because it’s something that makes me happy!

My New Art on Society6: Available Now!

Hey friends. I just wanted to let you in on one of my new ventures! I’ve signed up to be an artist on Society6! For those of you who aren’t familiar with them, it’s basically a website where artists can design and get commissions on those designs. Your art is uploaded and applied to different products and people can search and purchase your work. I’ve actually used Society 6 previously for home furnishings like curtains and pillows! Society6 showcases some really great artwork!

I would love for anyone reading to stop by and take a look at some of my designs! I would love some feedback!

I’ve always been an artist at heart, so I decided to try my hand on Society6 just as a way to keep my creativity alive.

Do any of you have work on the site? I would love to connect with you!

3 WordPress Updating Secrets You Never Knew

UpdateWordpressLenoreDallas

Are you trying to update WordPress? Are you afraid like me? Well, look here! I guess we can be scared together, but I have three things to tell you before you freak out! Before we begin, sit back and just breathe…

So here it goes:

  1. It won’t ever be updated if you keep looking at the upgrade button and not pressing it. You can look at the button for days and I promise you, nothing will happen!
  2. It’s ok that once you update your site to the Business Plan, you’re afraid all over again because now you have to check out these plugins and OMG, what if the first one I add on crashes my site?! It’s going to be ok. You are not alone.
  3. You are keenly aware now of all the things you DON’T know. It’s ok to feel overwhelmed about all the new jargon you are learning (SEO, CRM, NoFollow tags, etc.).

I’ve been a blogger for many years, but this is the first time I am interested in taking my blog to the next level. I finally know what I want to do with my online business (more on that later) and it starts right here. So, bear with me. If you come by the blog and it’s looking crazy, just keep reading…it’s gonna get better…eventually! LOL

I used to think that blogging was JUST writing, but I’m learning what really goes into it to make you stand out. I’m not saying that I know what I’m doing, but I’ve taken the first step. Now, all I have to do is relax and soak up all the information I can get my hands on.
